Creating a Trend

Trends are the top-level markets on Zora, built around topics, concepts, memes, or anything gaining attention. When you create a Trend, you establish a new market that others can create Pairs under by linking related content.

1. Click Start Trend in the header or on the homepage

2. Enter your Trend name

   • NOTE: Names can only contain letters and numbers — no spaces or special characters. Each name must be unique.

3. Review the preview showing your Trend's ticker and how the trading bar will look

4. Optionally, set an Initial Buy amount to purchase up to 5% of the token supply at creation

5. Click Start Trend to begin the creation process

6. Sign the transaction in your wallet when prompted

   • NOTE: Creating a Trend costs 1 SOL. This fee is non-refundable.

IMPORTANT: Trend names cannot be changed after creation. Make sure you're happy with the name and spelling before signing.

• Choose broad, recognizable topics that are likely to attract content. A Trend like "sports" will attract more Pairs than "tuesday-basketball-game"

• Think about whether people would naturally want to link tweets, videos, or articles to this topic; that's what drives Pair creation and trading activity

• Check if the Trend already exists before paying the creation fee by searching for it first
